It was my first full day in Panama City Beach, Florida. I had arrived the day before in a 1994 RV, after selling or leaving behind almost everything I owned, no car in tow, and honestly, no real plan beyond knowing this was exactly where I was supposed to be.
I was standing in Walmart, buying a beach chair for my new life, when I decided buying a car needed to be my top priority. Then it hit me, I had absolutely no way to go car shopping without one. I laughed out loud right there in the aisle at the thought of taking an Uber to a car lot.
Within minutes, I had a Facebook message. An old friend from racing had told his retired buddy who lived nearby about me. His friend said to give me his number. If I needed anything, just ask.
Perfect. I needed a ride to a car dealership.
Just like that, it was handled.
Eight months later, I was dreading a seven-hour drive on Florida's interstates to see one of my best friends. The night before I was supposed to leave, I ended up at a business dinner I almost skipped. Shortly after I arrived at the restaurant and the executive realized I was driving to the same area as their law firm, he offered me an empty seat on their private plane to Tampa.
I didn't plan any of that. I couldn't have. What I did was decide where I was going, take the next step in front of me, and trust that the rest would show up. And it did. Every single time.
That's not luck. That's what it looks like when you stop waiting for the perfect plan and start moving toward the life you want.
The Dream Is Still There โ even if the board is collecting dust
We're almost halfway through 2026. For a lot of people, the vision board that felt so alive in January is somewhere in a closet right now, face down under a pile of real life.
I get it. Life has a way of moving fast and loud, and somewhere in the middle of all of it, the inner voice that knows what you really want gets harder to hear.
But here's what I want you to know: the dream didn't go anywhere. It's still there, waiting. And the fact that you can still feel it, even a little, even underneath all the noise, means it's not too late.
Not even close.
You Don't Need the Whole Road โ just the next step
When I drove that RV to Florida, I didn't have a five-year plan. I didn't have a spreadsheet. I had direction and an excitement to move. More importantly, I trusted that the next right thing would find me when I needed it. Everything was going to work out.
It always did.
The private plane wasn't in my plan. The retired friend who took me to the car dealership wasn't in my plan. The Chamber of Commerce membership that opened doors to my first clients here wasn't in my plan. None of it was engineered. All of it arrived because I was in motion.
That's the fun...and slightly scary part about transformation. You don't have to see the whole road. All you have to do is be willing to take the next step and stay open to what shows up when you do.
The vision board isn't the destination. It's the starting point. The life you want comes from what you do next.
Tonight the Door Is Open โ come through it
This is what I built Dream to Done for.
Not for people who have it all figured out. For people who have the vision, or at least a glimpse of one, and are ready to stop letting it collect dust. Tonight at 6:30 PM Central, we're doing the work together. One hour. A real framework with a companion guide you can use.
You don't need a perfect plan to show up tonight. You just need to decide you're ready to start moving.
The door is still open. I would love to see you on the other side of it.
